Job Overview

Kendall Hunt Publishing is looking for a Publishing Solutions Representative to join our Higher Education team. You will maximize adoption sales of existing nationally marketed backlist titles through effective relationship building and ongoing communication, both via phone and email.

This inside sales job allows you to interact with Kendall Hunt’s premier products.  The responsibilities center around selling into the Communication, Business, Social Science, Criminal Justice and English disciplines.  Kendall Hunt is the most recognized name in the Communication field.  Leads are generated by email marketing advertisements and the salesperson approves the sending of a complimentary copy and then sells the professor on changing their current book to a KH book.  The sales call is a combination of Zoom, phone and email.  The clientele is educated and interesting.  Training is ongoing and includes product knowledge, the KH 5 step interview and technology training.  KH is at the forefront in higher education in eBook development and things like virtual reality and adaptive learning.  The position is ever-changing and allows you to make a difference in education.

In A Typical Work Day You Will

  • Manage portfolio of existing discipline specific Higher Education products with the objective of increasing sales and adoptions of those products
  • Develop sales plan for each individual title based upon sales history
  • Manage the sale of adoption directly to student or through bookstore encouraging digital sales
  • Analyzes portfolio of accounts and creates sales forecasts for adoption accounts secured
  • Analyzes portfolio of accounts and creates sales projections for all backlist adoptions
  • Builds and maintains effective customer relationships
  • Periodically attend conventions or national sales meetings to help support sales of key backlist titles
