Overview

International Tax Manager

We operate in 12 countries across EMEA, 18 countries in APAC and LATAM, as well as employees in several other jurisdictions. We truly are a global organisation with a very successful Tax team based in the US and the UK. If you are a natural self-starter, efficient in everything you do and call yourself a “go-getter”, come and join us as our new International Tax Manager.

How can you make an impact?

You will lead the day-to-day direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting activities for our EMEA business. Alongside this, as our International Tax Manager, you will also provide support in compliance, reporting, and project work for direct and indirect taxes in APAC and LATAM.

What you will be doing:

  • Partnering with our tax advisors to manage the timely completion and filing of corporation tax returns across the International group. Assisting the Tax Director to review all international tax returns, ensuring local entities comply with their global tax and statutory filing responsibilities.
  • Assist with US GAAP tax reporting for all international entities, including RTP’s, ETR reviews, reconciliations and data collection requests in order to meet US reporting obligations. This will include partnering with our controlling team in New York.
  • Work closely with EMEA Finance teams to prepare IFRS tax disclosure notes and accounting for CT and VAT in the financial statements for the region.
  • Working with advisors in multiple jurisdictions, manage the end-to-end VAT compliance for the EMEA region – preparation, review of third party work and filing of returns and related documentation ensuring maximum VAT reclaims.
  • Provide advice to the international business on VAT matters, keep abreast of tax rate changes, and assist with VAT system updates.
  • Prepare other annual returns such as PSA, STBV and CT61.
  • Working with our Indian off-shore team on all tax matters – reviewing and approving all journal entries, training, guiding and where needed, improve workflows.

You should apply if:

  • You have an accounting or tax qualification, (ACA, ACCA , CTA, etc.).
  • You have previous experience of working across different countries and regions. This is not essential but would be advantageous.
  • You have preferably had some experience working in industry.
  • You have US and IFRS Tax Accounting knowledge. Again, this is not essential but preferred.
  • You have the ability to grasp multiple cross-border concepts and can adapt quickly to new legislation.
  • You have a high level of personal drive and motivation with the desire and ability to innovate and to tackle challenges positively and creatively.

Why work for us?

McGraw Hill is a learning science company that delivers personalised learning experiences that help students, parents, educators, and professionals drive results. If you are positive and a natural self-starter, who can collaborate as a team as well as autonomously, we want to talk to you.
