A local and growing manufacturer is looking to add a leadership position to their third shift operations. The right fit candidate will possess leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and be an essential multi department leader to the ongoing growth of 3rd shift and oversees the production operations of the plant to ensure their efficiency and adherence to guidelines, budgets, and timelines. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and receive full benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee the day to day operations of the production to ensure quality and meet weekly and monthly production goals.
- Oversee and schedule staff to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee PTO, overtime assignment, and back-up for absent employees, ensuring performance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements; conferring with manufacturers; contracting for special maintenance services; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Counsel and train staff about work related-issues and assist them to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Promote team development through encouragement, and by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Guides and promotes safe work performance by enforcing safety policies; implementing safety campaigns; training managers and employee in safe practices and first aid.
What we need you to bring to the opportunity:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Five years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at an organizational level.
- Strong customer orientation.
