Job Overview

Newt Marine Service, a reliable fixture in the Upper Mississippi marine service industry, is looking for an Project Manager to join our team.

Since 1965, Newt Marine Service has been supporting commerce, recreation and wildlife needs on the inland waterways. We strive to safely execute marine projects with pride.

What We Do:

· Heavy marine construction activities

· Custom barge fabrication

· Fleeting Services

· Dry Docking

· Dredging

The project manager provides support by assisting with:

· Coordinating and monitoring heavy marine construction activities

· Coordinating work procedures with superintendent, crew, and subcontractors

· Preparing Accident Prevention, Quality Control, & Environmental Protection Plans

· Creating and implementing an Activity Hazard Analysis for multiple tasks

· Reading and understanding technical drawings, hydrographic and land surveys

· Estimating project costs and preparing bids

· Analyzing costs related to projects and tasks

· Preparing reports, charts, and graphs on program, project, or contract status and making presentations to management to keep them apprised

The qualified candidate will possess:

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Ability to lead, collaborate, and support a team throughout the project

· A high degree of computer literacy and ability to learn new software

· Ability to interface directly and indirectly with government agencies such as the Army Corp of Engineers, Department of Natural Resources, US Fish & Wildlife, Environmental Protection Agency, and OSHA
