Your Responsibilities
As a Material Flow Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will….
- Be primarily responsible for designing and implementing material flow strategies to improve efficiency of delivery of material and overall manufacturing operations
- Provide technical and project management leadership for changes of moderate to large scope, and will involve coordination across supply management, operations, and material flow functions to drive significant improvements in structured material flow processes at C&F
- Lead in the development, simulation, and implementation of plans to support lean manufacturing, designing layouts, measuring labor, standardizing processes, and improving material flow and presentation through the Deere Production System
- Lead analysis, development and implementation of new material flow technology and processes, with a focus on automation. This work will require collaboration and alignment with stakeholders in the Product Delivery Process, Factory Master Planning, Order Fulfillment, Manufacturing Engineering, Team Leads, Business Unit Leaders, Maintenance, Industrial Relations, Union leadership, Union Time study, Safety, Ergonomics, Facilities, Warehousing and Logistics

What Skills You Need
- 2 or more years of experience in the following areas: material flow, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, production, supply management, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, or quality.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, and/or Ignition
- Technical experience with core industrial engineering principles, such as W-Planner, data application, line design and simulation tools
- Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurements
- Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases, including Creo/AutoCAD/Factory CAD
- Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools
- Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering preferred but not required, or equivalent related work experiences
