Job Overview
Summary: The individual in this position reports to the VP of Operations and will lead a team of individuals to optimize inventory movement, replenishment, and delivery to production. This position will oversee receiving, replenishment, RGA, material handling and shipping of our beam, greenhouse, and truss product lines. This position will also require close collaboration with purchasing, manufacturing, transportation, and scheduling teams to ensure proper material flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate the activities of all supervisors and lead persons in the receiving, returns, outside material movement, replenishment, inspection and loading functions including performance measurement and reviews. Perform supervisory responsibilities complying with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Complete performance reviews on employees in a timely fashion.
- Manage employees by appraising performance, rewarding or disciplining employee performance, addressing complaints and work with HR as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Plan work activities and assign resources as needed to accomplish goals. Participate in the hiring process including requisitioning, interviewing and selection of jobs and candidates.
- Provide necessary leadership and training to build and maintain a strong material movement, receiving, and RGA team. Write and maintain departmental work instructions and maintain departmental training documentation.
- Design and control work processes used to facilitate the accomplishment of organizational plans as they pertain to inventory control.
- Interface with other manufacturing and distribution departments, as required, maintaining inventory accuracy and optimizing material flow. Remove material flow constraints through long-term sustainable corrective actions and solutions.
- Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to ensure lean manufacturing protocol and continuous improvement initiatives are developed to optimize material flow and reduce costs.
- Develop effective KPI’s to measure and improve team’s performance.
- Review receiving processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise activities outside of the buildings.
- Supervise replenishment to enhance on time shipping.
- Work with the Material Flow Coordinator to efficiently and accurately move manufactured materials.
- Train supervisors, leads, and other employees within each work group.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner that supports an engaged environment.
- Monitor and resolve workplace safety issues and be involved in meetings addressing these issues to reduce worker’s compensation claims.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job requires supervision of receiving associates, outside material handlers, replenishment workers, RGA workers, inspection workers, greenhouse, truss, and beam loaders and lead and supervisory personnel.

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, & MS Outlook.
