Work hours will be 3rd shift, 10 hour shifts from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am, for 70 - 80 hours per pay period. There is a holiday and a every other weekend rotation.
Responsible for working within the established guidelines of the Laboratory Department as assigned. As a professional, the MLT/CLT is responsible for carrying out the philosophy and objectives. Foremost among these responsibilities are adhering to detail in the technical performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical and analytical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.

Responsibilities
MLT/CLT
- Performs careful and accurate work in any technical area as assigned.
- Performs tests within specified turnaround time for assigned area.
- Assures that QA guidelines are strictly adhered to before reporting any laboratory result.
- Complies with methodologies, procedures and services in consultation with the assigned laboratory supervisor.
- Participates in performing and documenting routine instrument maintenance as assigned.
- Documents all necessary information in the performance of technical procedures.
- Has appropriate training and performs blood collections from all age groups.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate degree in a science-related field with a certificate of completion from a Medical Laboratory Technician program from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- Less than one year experience is required.
- Six months clinical internship preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. May be hired into this position if he/she has completed the requirements for registration but has not successfully completed the MLT exam; however, the exam must be successfully completed within 6 months subsequent to hiring.
