Your impact on team:

For the role of the Metadata Program Manager, we are looking for a versatile education professional who can provide expertise in managing complex projects, involving collaborations with curriculum, product, and technical teams on educational metadata design and development. The role will focus on planning, communication, and coordination for initiatives across McGraw Hill’s main business divisions, and the successful candidate will join an emerging metadata team helping to drive innovative learning experiences with careful measurement, rich analytics, and AI-accelerated tools.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States and requires up to 15% travel for the year.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with metadata team members and product managers to track and manage progress on metadata team collaborations and consultations.
  • Collaborate with metadata team members to develop and track key metadata quality and usage metrics.
  • Collaborate with metadata team members, product managers, and finance members to track and manage metadata accounting.
  • Ensure transparency and buy in on key decisions.
  • Proactively remove impediments to ensure successful delivery of team commitments. 
  • Drive issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Communicate clearly and articulately to diverse functional teams.
  • Develop training resources, documentation, and other communications on metadata and metadata tools for product and design teams

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Undergraduate degree in education, learning sciences, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in education with at least 2 years of direct experience working with educational standards, professional learning competencies, and/or educational metadata, particularly in assessment contexts.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in translating technical details to non-specialist audiences.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized; able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Growth mindset and open to change, with a positive attitude and interest in improving over time.
  • Fluency with state educational standards in Math or Literacy or with education competencies in other disciplines and/or professions.
  • Flexible and adaptable to tools and ways of working.
  • Experience working with educational metadata and platforms used in multiple educational contexts, including K-12, higher education, and professional. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and educational content. (preferred)
  • Experience with personalization tools in education. (preferred)
  • Awareness of generative AI tools and their potential for educational content and interactions. (preferred)
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Teams, and Slack. (preferred)

The pay range for this position is between $73,000 - $125,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
