Job Overview
There is a lot of magic that happens behind the scenes through the mortgage lending process and beyond. As a Mortgage Servicing Representative, we take care of various tasks for the life of the loan from setting up auto transfers, escrow analysis, processing property taxes and so much more! Mortgages can be complex and members often call us with questions because they know that at Dupaco, we care. This position requires someone who is accurate with details, is well organized, and wants to continue to provide exceptional service to our members.
What You Will Do:
- Answer a variety of mortgage loan inquiries over the phone, in person and via email.
- Process incoming mail, including identifying loan account number, process in the system and scan documents.
- Completion of all tasks associated with the paid off mortgage loans which includes preparing release forms, sending them to be recorded, sending recorded releases to be imaged, purging the files, and updating the tax service.
- Book new and refinanced residential mortgage loans with initial review of the closing documents, performing data input utilizing documentation to book the loan, review of automated interfaced data, setting up escrow details, and balancing final funding entries. Also includes setting up automatic transfers, setting up new savings accounts, handling ACH and payroll transfer requests.
- Prepare mortgage loan payoff quote letters internally and externally upon request.
- Post payoffs to mortgage loans, and delete any automatic payments.
- Assist members and co-workers in setting up auto transfers to residential mortgage loans. This may include obtaining completed signature cards for the Mortgage Transfer Savings account and then completing the Workflow process.
- Assist in the administration of all escrow accounts by maintaining accurate accounting records, assure that all taxes and insurance premiums are paid on accounts in a timely manner, update the servicing system’s escrow details, and problem solve when necessary.
- Assist with all tasks associated with the annual escrow analysis. Obtain those with surplus funds, review, and mail with checks. Review and research escrows with deficiencies. Maintain monthly automatic payments. Mailing of escrow letters, as needed. Work with members to assist them in the understanding of changes to their payments and escrow accounts, as well as process escrow shortage deposits.
- Perform courtesy calls monthly on closed purchase loans.
- Recognize member and potential member needs by educating and demonstrating them on appropriate credit union services. Recognize member needs and cross sell on appropriate products and services that benefit the member.

What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
- 2+ years of professional work experience (i.e. customer service, clerical, or administrative work)
- Excellent written and verbal skills to professionally communicate with staff and members
- Ability to assume responsibility and solve problems in a fast pace environment
- Resourceful and well organized with the ability to prioritize work assignments efficiently.
- Ability to accurately handle large volumes of details and multi-task effectively
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to navigate between multiple programs and utilize dual computer screens
