Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients according to recipes.
- Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Preparing sauces and other culinary components.
Cooking
- Cooking food items using various methods (grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, etc.).
- Ensuring food is cooked to the correct temperature and doneness.
- Preparing and plating dishes.
Station Management
- Setting up and stocking the assigned kitchen station.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Ensuring the freshness of ingredients and proper storage.
Food Safety and Sanitation
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Properly handling and storing food to prevent contamination.
Teamwork
- Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs and other line cooks, to ensure smooth service.
- Following instructions and directions from supervisors.
Other Duties
- Assisting with other kitchen tasks as needed.
- May be responsible for cleaning equipment and utensils.
Skills and Qualifications
- Culinary Skills: Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and recipes.
- Food Safety: Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Knife Skills: Ability to safely and accurately cut and chop ingredients.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and quickly in a fast-paced environment.
