Working onsite at our Dubuque office, you will lead a small team and report to our Commercial Finance Manager. The Controller’s main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements according to Tama group and local requirements
- Prepare and analyze monthly P&L and cost accounting reports.
- Bank account control, cash management and cash flow
- Support tax declarations; primarily completed by 3rd Party (RSM)
- Communication and reporting to local authorities (tax authorities, statistics, eco fees)
- Support Commercial Finance Manager with auditors, tax advisors
- Contact point to Headquarter (HQ) finance
- Responsible for accurate, reliable and on time payrolls (Commercial Finance Manager is accountable)
- Responsible for credit insurance (Commercial Finance Manager is accountable)
- Compliance with local regulations
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining Tama’s internal control procedures (Commercial Finance Manager is accountable)
Support
- Support local manager - prepare managerial reports (sales, inventory / stock, customer aging), working with TFI
- Support Commercial Finance Manager with team management (see details below)
- Support with work plan / budget planning and monitoring
- Support all insurance issues
- Support Commercial Finance Manager with IT finance systems. Help ensure system’s compliance with local regulations
Finance team management
- Work with and consult with Commercial Finance Manager to maintain and develop the finance team to include recruiting, developing and retention of staff. Controller should be the lead on being professional manager with the team. HR-related issues will be managed with the Commercial Finance Manager
- Directly manage small team of employees
- Plan manpower needs and divide tasks within the team
Work routines with Tama HQ:
- Prepare P&L with notes and upload to TFI – monthly
- Prepare cash flow, forecast and actual – yearly and monthly
- Lead monthly cashflow meeting with Global Treasurer, CFO
- Prepare Tama package report - half year and year end
- Reconcile intercompany accounts for Tama consolidation – monthly
- Upload budget to TFI – beginning of the year
- Upload budget’s updates to TFI – monthly
- Support Commercial Finance with Transfer Pricing regulations
- Structured communication with Finance HQ
- Take part in Finance seminar, which may include travel
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting (CPA preferred)
- Three to five years of experience in business accounting
- Understanding of accounting software principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products – required
- Experience with ERP (Oracle) – an advantage, not required
- Leadership experience – highly preferred
