Job Description:

We are looking for someone who is both creative and hands-on to join our team. This role requires someone with excellent attention to detail, an eye for design, and the ability to transform raw materials into high-quality samples. The ideal candidate should be skilled in cutting, shaping, and assembling various materials, while also bringing a creative touch to each project. Whether you're working with steel or aluminum, you will be responsible for creating prototypes, mockups, and samples for design purposes.

What does Klauer ask of you? - Essential Duties of the Sample Specialist:

• Cut, shape, and assemble various materials to create high-quality samples.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand specifications and ensure that samples are accurate and meet project requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
• Use both manual and power cutting tools safely and efficiently to produce samples.
• Suggest creative improvements or new approaches based on your hands-on experience and insights.
• Assist with the preparation of final sample presentations for clients or internal use.
• Ensure all sample production meets the Klauer quality standards set by the team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a creative or craft-based role (e.g., design, tailoring, woodworking).
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in cutting or crafting samples for design or production purposes.
• Knowledge of different materials and how to handle them appropriately for sampling.
• Strong hands-on skills and experience with cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
• Creative mindset with an eye for design, texture, and detail.
• Ability to work with a variety of materials and tools.
• Attention to detail, precision, and accuracy in all aspects of the sample assembly process.
• Ability to take direction but also offer innovative ideas or solutions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (e.g. 4-8 hours).   Regular use of hands and fingers to use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment with precision and control.  Manual dexterity to manipulate small objects. Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch to perform tasks in low spaces.  Good hand-eye coordination for tasks requiring steady hands and attention to detail. Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), including tools, materials, and equipment.  Ability to reach for items stored in cabinets or on shelves above or below desk level. Ability to hear and speak clearly to identify hazards, inspect work, and follow safety procedures. Endurance to maintain focus and productivity during regular working hours.
