Position Overview

If so, we’re hiring a Controller for an exciting full-time, on-site opportunity in Dubuque, Iowa. This role offers the chance to lead a small accounting team, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and ensure strong financial performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
This role plays a vital part in maintaining financial accuracy and operational support across departments.
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with internal and external guidelines
- Oversee profit and loss reports and ensure accurate cost accounting practices
- Manage banking activity, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning
- Assist in preparing and coordinating income tax filings in collaboration with third-party advisors
- Serve as liaison to regulatory agencies for tax, statistical, and compliance matters
- Collaborate with senior finance leaders on audit preparation and financial reviews
- Maintain compliance with internal control policies and oversee implementation of financial procedures
- Support payroll processing and insurance compliance (in coordination with department leadership)
- Assist in regulatory compliance related to credit insurance and local legislation
Operational & Strategic Support
- Provide financial insights and managerial reports on sales, inventory, customer aging, and other key areas
- Support budget development and assist in performance tracking throughout the fiscal year
- Help facilitate IT finance system integration and ensure alignment with compliance needs
- Contribute to insurance coordination across operations
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead a small accounting team with a focus on mentorship, performance management, and team development
- Collaborate with leadership to align staffing with operational goals
- Manage workflow, delegate tasks, and ensure timely execution of responsibilities
- Assist in hiring, training, and retaining top finance talent
Global Financial Communication
- Submit monthly financial packages and reporting to corporate leadership
- Coordinate monthly cash flow updates and participate in global finance meetings
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and assist in group-level consolidation
- Support adherence to transfer pricing regulations and communicate regularly with global finance teams
- Attend occasional finance summits or training seminars, which may require travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a financial or accounting leadership role
- Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite required
- ERP system knowledge (especially Oracle) is a plus
- Prior team leadership or supervisory experience highly desired
