About the job: Area Residential Care is seeking a full-time Scheduling Coordinator to add to our team! Our mission is to empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their highest quality of life. Our vision is that every individual has the opportunity to live, work, and participate in a supportive and accessible community. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for developing staff work schedules for all agency programs and is critical to ensuring adequate staffing for our 24/7 operations.

Schedule: First Shift, Monday - Friday  8am-4:30 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Works with supervisors to monitor staff work schedules for all homes, apartments, and day programs in the agency
  • Contacts agency staff to fill open shifts in accordance with company policy/procedure and union contract
  • Communicates with different departments in a timely manner
  • Maintains all calling lists for additional hours
  • Follows contract terms in coordinating schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualified applicants will have:

  • High school diploma or HSED required, Associate degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated consecutive work experience, 6 months minimum.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • A valid driver’s license to become an agency driver.

Highly qualified applicants will have:

  • Prior experience in scheduling work shifts, especially in a medical setting.
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual/development disabilities.

The successful candidate is required to successfully pass a background check and complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Area Residential Care is a private, non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization, created in 1968 by a group of parents and other interested parties. Its mission is to empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their highest quality of life. From its inception, Area Residential Care’s purpose has been to provide community-based services for persons with intellectual disabilities. The organization has grown over the past 40 years to serve an average of 250-275 people with disabilities annually; providing residential, vocational, and day services in Dubuque and Dyersville communities.

Through a variety of community-based residential and vocational programs, Area Residential Care helps people with disabilities become active, participating members of the community. Giving people with disabilities choices about where and how they live, work and socialize with their non-disabled peers is the essence of Area Residential Care’s purpose.
