The Opportunity

As Executive Director, you will be the guiding force behind Steeple Square’s mission, culture, and future. You'll oversee strategic initiatives, sustainability, facility operations, and partnerships. This is a unique opportunity for a relationship-centered leader who thrives on vision, collaboration, and making a measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead with Purpose: Shape and implement strategic goals and operational plans in partnership with the Board.
• Champion Development: Expand and nurture donor relationships, build a culture of philanthropy, and lead innovative fundraising efforts along with the development committee.
• Grow Community Impact: Strengthen partnerships in vocational training and job-readiness, arts, culture and tourism, childcare, and other areas related to our mission.
• Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations, staff, budgets, vendors, and compliance — ensuring we meet and exceed nonprofit best practices.
• Be the Face of Steeple Square: Represent the organization publicly and build strong ties across neighborhoods, nonprofits, donors, and media.
• Facility Engagement: Support our marketing and event manager and committees to optimize rentals and expand the visibility and use of our unique campus.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a compassionate leader and bold strategist who brings:

• 3–5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, development, or related fields
• An ability to inspire donors, supporters and community stakeholders
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
• A passion for community engagement, mission alignment, and servant leadership
• Bonus: Experience in facility/event management, historic preservation, or community development

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database tools

Pay is $75,000 - 85,000 per year and is negotiable based on experience.
