Maintenance Supervisor

Job Overview

Specialized Recruiting Group is now seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our client’s team in Dubuque. This role is vital to ensuring facility operations run efficiently, safely, and reliably. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, lead a team of technicians, and coordinate preventive maintenance programs that minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, technically skilled, and an effective leader with proven experience in industrial maintenance and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the maintenance team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Oversee facility upkeep, including repairs, installations, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal machine and facility performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, inspections, and service agreements.
• Monitor safety practices, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reporting for equipment and facility operations.
• Provide hands-on support when needed to quickly resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with production and leadership teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical degree or relevant certification preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience: Prior supervisory experience in maintenance or manufacturing required.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• Effective communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred but not required); occasional travel may be necessary.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication manufacturing and experience with manufacturing equipment preferred.
