Area Residential Care (ARC) is looking for individuals that want to make a difference. Direct Support Professionals support individuals with intellectual disabilities and help them reach their highest quality of life! We provide support to individuals in Dubuque and Dyersville in residential programs and offer day services in our Dubuque location. As a part of the Area Residential Care team, 3rd shift staff work at residential homes, performing deep cleaning, making routine bed checks, supporting individuals with morning routines, and providing individualized support as needed. 2nd shift staff work in residential locations, supporting individuals with meal preparation, participating in group outings and activities, assisting with bedtime routines, and providing additional supports as needed. 1st shift staff transport individuals to the day program and support them in being actively involved in their community through skill-building, volunteer activities, and participating in other community-based events.

We provide a $3/hr. wage differential for all weekend shifts and $1/hr. for 3rd shift weekdays!

$1500 retention bonus! *Conditions may apply

Wage Range: $17.50-$18.57 per hour

Schedules: maximum of 29 hours per week

Minimum qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or HSED
  • 6-months consistent work history
  • Ability to lift & transfer 20lbs regularly and occasionally 50 lbs

A highly qualified candidate will have:

  • Med Manager/Med Aid Certification
  • Previous DSP experience in IDD

Area Residential Care is a private, non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization, created in 1968 by a group of parents and other interested parties. Its mission is to empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their highest quality of life. From its inception, Area Residential Care’s purpose has been to provide community-based services for persons with intellectual disabilities. The organization has grown over the past 40 years to serve an average of 250-275 people with disabilities annually; providing residential, vocational, and day services in Dubuque and Dyersville communities.
