Quality Assurance Manager

Job Overview

Specialized Recruiting Group is now seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our client’s team in Dubuque, IA. This role is key to ensuring products meet customer and industry standards while leading and supporting a dedicated Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong inspection and process improvement experience, a problem-solver who thrives in a manufacturing environment, and someone who can balance leadership responsibilities with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and conduct inspections at all stages of production, including first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM machines.
• Inspect castings for layout, tolerances, and finish specifications.
• Identify defects, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation, calibration records, and reports.
• Audit processes and operators to proactively identify and reduce quality risks.
• Lead or participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards across all departments.
• Supervise, train, and mentor QA team members, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality concerns and ensure strong cross-department communication.

Qualifications
• Education: Technical training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or fabrication environment; prior supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
• Skills:

• Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (AIAG Core Tools: APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA)
• Hands-on inspection and quality process management experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in computer systems/software for quality tracking and reporting
• Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
