📋 Job Posting – Operations & Inventory Supervisor
Job Title: Operations & Inventory Supervisor – Back-End Team Lead
Company: Stu’s Home Improvement Outlet (Dubuque, IA)
About Us
Stu’s Home Improvement Outlet is a high-volume discount retail warehouse specializing in scratch-and-dent appliances, furniture, flooring, lighting, and tools. Our proceeds support our nonprofit Restoration Works, which helps families, veterans, and individuals in need.
Job Overview
We are hiring an Operations & Inventory Supervisor to manage our receiving and warehouse/back-end staff. This role is not sales-related — it focuses on inventory accuracy, pricing, deliveries, and process automation.
The Supervisor ensures every product is priced correctly, entered into Shopify accurately, tested, cleaned, and ready for the sales floor or delivery. They will oversee back-end staff, monitor digital checklists, and make sure our paper-free workflow (Shopify, JotForm, Zapier) is followed.
This person reports directly to the General Manager (Todd Fay) and the Owner (Stu Surface).
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise receiving and warehouse/back-end employees.
- Ensure accurate Shopify product entry (pricing, SKU, condition, photos).
- Double-check pricing against cost, MSRP, and store standards before release.
- Oversee deliveries: verify delivery forms, prep items, and confirm customer sign-offs.
- Monitor and enforce use of digital checklists/forms (JotForm, Shopify, Zapier).
- Ensure warehouse processes are followed: intake, testing, cleaning, staging.
- Train staff on intake, testing, pricing, and delivery prep procedures.
- Audit daily inventory, fix errors, and report to GM/Owner.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy (cost vs. retail, margins).
- Experience in inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of delivery scheduling and preparation.
- Comfortable using Shopify, JotForm, Zapier, or similar automation systems.
- Attention to detail (able to spot pricing/data errors before they hit the floor).
- Leadership skills with ability to supervise and enforce accountability.
- Reliable, organized, proactive communicator.
Schedule
- Full-time, on-site role.
- Monday–Saturday operations (rotating schedule; Sundays off unless special projects).
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay (based on experience).
- Performance bonuses tied to pricing accuracy, inventory efficiency, and delivery readiness.
