Laborer - Dubuque, IA

Job Overview

The Laborer is responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor at building projects and demolition sites. Tasks include: Clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove scrap and other waste materials. This is a entry level position with the opportunity to learn and grow within Company. 

Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:

• Assist to construct walls, partitions, framing, and roof structure from wood, aluminum and steel materials
• Assemble and disassemble scaffolding, ladders, bracing and support systems for structure and for employees to work from
• Assist with the assembly and application of hardware and fixtures to cabinets, doors, windows, and lighting
• Assist with concrete, both flat and vertical, as assigned
• Grind and grout floors or walls of structure for reinforcements or aesthetics
• Paint walls, equipment, building and other structural surfaces, using brushed, rollers, and spray guns.  
• Remove old paint to prepare surface for painting
• Line and cover structure with insulating materials
• May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, 
• cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
• Supplies materials and tools to carpenters
• Keep work area clean and in safe condition
