Great River Learning is seeking a Web Designer Intern to bring creative ideas to life! In this role, you'll apply your design skills to create accessible, engaging, and modern materials for both print and digital media. The position requires availability to work 10–15 hours per week with a flexible schedule to accommodate classes and is based on-site at our Dubuque, Iowa home office (no remote work).

In A Typical Work Week as an Intern, You Will...
- Creates web designs for online books in GRL's content management platform using HTML and CSS.
- Understands and employs UX best practices to build web designs that are easy to use and accessible to all users. Manages design versions and variations with GIT version control management system.
- Creates custom print cover designs for GRL print books and ebooks.
- Designs digital and print marketing pieces.
- Uses digital graphic design skills to sketch diagrams, infographics, and simple illustrations using photo/graphic editing software (e.g. Illustrator).
- Performs additional duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student majoring in Graphic Design, Web Design, or Marketing (with coursework in web design and computer sciences) who has strong written and verbal communication, graphic design and problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone passionate about learning and researching with a desire to hone their web design skills. Applicants must have experience using PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver or similar web development tools, as well as HTML and CSS.
