Mary’s Inn, a faith-based maternity home in Dubuque, Iowa is seeking mature women with a variety of life experiences to join our team. Successful candidates will have experience working in the fields of substance abuse, homelessness, or brain health, and who are able to show compassion and understanding for girls who have chosen life for their babies.

Role Description

This is a full-time second shift position (4 pm - Midnight) for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) located in Dubuque, IA. The candidate will be responsible for mentoring women who are pregnant and/or parenting an infant. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience working in a residential setting (such as a sober living home, or a women's shelter) and be trained in trauma informed care and/or motivational interviewing. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing the programming, providing training to enhance skills and independence, and building supportive relationships with our residents in a supportive and respectful environment.

REQUIRED:

1) A strong Christian faith

2) Experience in the fields of substance abuse, homelessness, or mental health

3) High school diploma or GED

4) Able to pass a criminal, sex offender, and abuse background check

5) Able to pass a drug screening

6) Physically able to walk up and down stairs and ability to lift 25 pounds

7) Possess a valid driver's license, car insurance & reliable transportation

PREFERRED:

1) Experience with Trauma Informed Care and/or Motivational Interviewing

2) Experience raising children through adulthood
