Job Summary

Operation Empower is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Social Worker to join our team part-time (20–25 hours per week, with potential for increased hours as our organization grows). In this role, you will provide essential counseling, case management, and advocacy services to individuals and families navigating life transitions, mental health challenges, or socioeconomic barriers. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess client needs, develop tailored intervention plans, and connect clients with critical community resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, culturally sensitive relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Deliver therapeutic support through individual and group counseling sessions
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and goals
  • Create, implement, and monitor customized treatment plans
  • Partner with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations for holistic support
  • Refer clients to appropriate external specialists, services, or programs
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with regulations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW); Master's degree (MSW) strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in social work, preferably in nonprofit or community-based environments
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed care, mental health practices, and social justice principles
  • Outstanding communication, advocacy, and case management abilities
  • Proven ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic case management systems
  • Commitment to complete Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire (and every 5 years thereafter)
