Job Overview
Truck Country is looking for a motivated Truck Salesperson to join our team in Dubuque. You’ll sell new and used trucks to owner-operators and businesses, working out of our dealership, in the field, and everywhere in between. If you’re a self-starter who thrives on building relationships and closing deals, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Build your territory through cold calls, emails, referrals, networking, and in-person visits.
- Develop strong product knowledge to confidently present new and used truck solutions.
- Understand customer needs and recommend equipment that meets their business goals.
- Create and follow an annual sales plan, hitting or exceeding targets.
- Handle pricing and proposal development from start to finish.
- Maintain regular contact with prospects and clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Keep accurate records of all sales activity using CRM tools.
- Stay current on market trends, competitive products, and dealership inventory.
- Work closely with support departments to provide excellent customer service.
- Complete Freightliner and Western Star Sales Certification within the required timeframe.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field OR 3+ years of successful outside sales experience.
- Class A or B CDL (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Tech-savvy: comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in heavy-duty truck or equipment sales.
- Knowledge of Freightliner or Western Star trucks.
- Familiarity with the transportation or logistics industry.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office, showroom, and field-based role with outdoor exposure.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- May occasionally climb, kneel, or crawl in and around equipment.
- Some travel required within your assigned territory.
