Job Overview

Truck Country is looking for a motivated Truck Salesperson to join our team in Dubuque. You’ll sell new and used trucks to owner-operators and businesses, working out of our dealership, in the field, and everywhere in between. If you’re a self-starter who thrives on building relationships and closing deals, this role is for you.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Build your territory through cold calls, emails, referrals, networking, and in-person visits.
  • Develop strong product knowledge to confidently present new and used truck solutions.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend equipment that meets their business goals.
  • Create and follow an annual sales plan, hitting or exceeding targets.
  • Handle pricing and proposal development from start to finish.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects and clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Keep accurate records of all sales activity using CRM tools.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive products, and dealership inventory.
  • Work closely with support departments to provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete Freightliner and Western Star Sales Certification within the required timeframe.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field OR 3+ years of successful outside sales experience.
  • Class A or B CDL (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Tech-savvy: comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

 

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience in heavy-duty truck or equipment sales.
  • Knowledge of Freightliner or Western Star trucks.
  • Familiarity with the transportation or logistics industry.

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Office, showroom, and field-based role with outdoor exposure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • May occasionally climb, kneel, or crawl in and around equipment.
  • Some travel required within your assigned territory.
