Job Overview

Portzen Construction is seeking full-time Heavy Equipment Operators.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various pieces of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders and other large equipment to erect structures, excavate, move or grade earth
  • Lift, position and place machinery, equipment and other objects at construction sites and industrial facilities
  • Repair and maintain equipment as needed

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required to join the apprenticeship program
  • Previous experience working on construction job sites and operating heavy equipment
  • Able to read and understand construction documents
  • Able to follow safety guidelines at all times
  • Will work in varied conditions including hot and cold temperatures
  • Must wear personal protective equipment provided

This position is a full-time position that can be seasonal, some travel may be required within a 150 mile radius of Dubuque.
