POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility. Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations to schedule work activities such as work orders, plant maintenance etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree or certifications specializing in maintenance planning or scheduling or related fields preferred 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of successful work experience with strong skills in a production/planning role
  • Experience ordering materials and developing scope, plans and other reporting documents
  • Experience planning, scheduling, computerized reporting, plant maintenance and drafting
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical Maintenance work practices including but not limited to repair and maintenance of heat exchangers, towers, vessels, pumps, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, motors and instruments
  • Working knowledge of the use of pipe specs and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance management systems such as Maximo
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures whether in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to coordinate and interact with various levels of management and departments
  • Fluent in English, oral and written required.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Evaluate and recommend maintenance policies and procedures
  • Maintain records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility
  • Review ready to schedule work backlog, coordinate between crafts, planners, and operations to prioritize and schedule work
  • Generate weekly schedules, meet with operations and area maintenance foremen to update and finalize next day’s schedule. 
  • Lead daily schedule meeting.  Send out next day’s schedule and manpower reports.  Generate electronic permits for the next day. Provide list of LOTO work for the next day to operations.
  • Assist in the planning of maintenance activities for shutdowns and turnaround events
  • Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions
  • Identify areas for improving the planning and scheduling process
  • Fill in for planners when necessary
  • Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.

 EXPECTED RESULTS 

  • Consistently prevent unscheduled shutdowns through proper communications with the area foremen, and area planners
  • Prioritization of job plans result in high efficiency and reduced cost
  • Increase schedule compliance
  • Improve coordination of multi-craft jobs
  • Positive feedback from peers and upper management regarding services provided
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures
