Job Description

About the role

Key Job Accountabilities

 

As part of the Production Supervisor Team, you’ll be responsible for…

 

  • Direct and manage all hourly personnel on the assigned shift to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Ensure production of quality products, including minimizing scrap, verifying bottle inspections, & ensuring proper packing procedures.
  • Oversee material usage, material handling, & movement procedures, including safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Monitor SPC functions, cycle times, product changeovers, & downstream equipment performance.
  • Verify production labeling, reporting accuracy, & preparation of carton/unit labels.
  • Ensure proper regrind processes & minimize held‑ware.
  • Maintain workforce performance through training, coaching, development, & timely feedback, including annual reviews.
  • Ensure shift staffing aligns with production schedules & standards; verify daily time and attendance for all employees, including temporary staff.
  • Verify operator preventive maintenance checks and inspect systems room when maintenance is unavailable.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing PPE use, ensuring clean and hazard‑free areas, keeping fire exits unblocked, and responding to accidents or near misses.
  • Communicate effectively with plant staff, including notifying appropriate personnel when machines are down.
  • Verify Employee & Temp Timecards are correct at the end of every week.
  • Promote & enforce all plant safety rules, GMP policies, ISO standards, & Quality Management Systems.
  • Lead required safety and communication meetings (pre‑shift, department, change management, town hall, etc.).
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, & implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Lead risk assessment activities & drive corrective/preventive actions to reduce safety and environmental risks.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations & direct others as needed.
  • Follow all department procedures & directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education:
    • College degree preferred (may substitute for part of supervisory experience).

Skills/Experience:

  • Three years of supervisory experience, or a college degree plus one year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Functional knowledge of maintenance & repair processes for high‑speed molding machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of extrusion and blow‑molding equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • PPE Required –Requirements are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel-toed shoes, hairnet, and beard net.
  • Forklift certification –None
  • Information Ordering -- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). The ability to distinguish between slight variations in color.
  • Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Wrist-Finger Speed -- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Multi-limb Coordination -- The ability to use multi-limbs to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lifting Requirements -- Ability to lift 35 pounds over head to total height of six feet repetitively.
  • Walking/Standing---Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day.
