Job Overview
POSITION: County Youth Coordinator, Dubuque County
HOURS: 40 hours per week (Additional hours during fair required)
STATUS: Full-Time Non-Exempt (Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends)
COMPENSATION: Hourly wage commensurate with education and experience
WAGE RANGE/BENEFITS: $24- $26 hrs./wk., Medical/Dental, IPERS

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: County Director
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provide day-to-day planning and management of Dubuque County 4-H program. Work with youth, volunteers, and other staff to plan, implement, and evaluate a progressive series of educational programs and experiences that work toward multiple life skill outcomes.
- 40 hours per week/flexible
- Approximately 20-30% of work will be evenings and
- Reimbursement for work related travel; must provide own
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES
- Support 4-H Youth Development program in
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance the Iowa 4-H mission and
- Communicate effectively with members, families, volunteers, and other
- Organize and maintain volunteer management system (ISOTURE).
- Recruitment and support of new and existing members, families, and
- Delegate responsibility and authority according to volunteer strengths and
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with volunteer event committees, 4-H Youth Committee, 4-H club leaders, and project committees.
- Assure compliance with risk management policies, including required training and background checks of volunteers.
- Represent Iowa State University, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and Iowa 4-H professionally and positively.
- Promote 4-H state and county programs, events, and activities, working with local partners and
- Attend county, area, and state training as
- Plan and organize the 4-H/Youth activities at the Dubuque County Fair. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: coordinating judging events and activities, weigh-in of all species, and news releases.
- Facilitate Dubuque County Youth Leaders in monthly meetings and
- Other duties as needed to enhance Dubuque County Extension and Outreach
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of experience working with youth and volunteers
- 4-H experience as a youth member or leader
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and database management)
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable Pass ISU Extension criminal background check and DMV screening.
