POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Dubuque YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The part-time recreational preschool and school-age gymnastics instructors for our Recreation Program will demonstrate:

  • High energy and enthusiasm for coaching gymnastics.
  • Ability to lift and move mats and equipment (approx. 5-15 lbs).
  • Capability to lift/spot students through new skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective leadership and motivational abilities for children of all ages.
  • Reliability, responsibility, and punctuality.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of basic USA Gymnastics progressions and skills.
  • Positive coaching style.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for helping and coaching kids.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 16 years or older (preferably)
  • Must be able to bend and lift 30-35 pounds.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Must have knowledge of gymnastics.
  • Must be enthusiastic and motivated with the ability to work well with all age groups.
