About the Opportunity

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a CNC Manager for a confidential opportunity with a manufacturing company in Northeast Iowa. This role oversees the machining department and plays a key part in driving production efficiency, quality, and team performance.

The CNC Manager will combine hands-on machining expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards for safety and precision. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily machining operations to meet production goals and deadlines
• Schedule jobs and adjust staffing levels for optimal efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop CNC operators and programmers
• Support recruiting, training, and performance management of team members
• Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.)
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop floor
• Identify process improvements using Lean, Kaizen, or similar methodologies
• Troubleshoot machining issues and oversee equipment maintenance
• Recommend new machinery, tooling, and capital improvements
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and quality teams on production planning and new product launches

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience and/or 5–10 years of CNC machining experience
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code, Mastercam, or similar)
• Experience with machine setup and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Proven leadership ability with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
