About the Opportunity

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician for a confidential opportunity with a construction equipment service provider in Northeast Iowa. This is a shop-based role, ideal for technicians who prefer working in a structured environment where equipment is brought in for diagnosis and repair.

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of diesel-powered construction and compact equipment. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment is returned to service quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered equipment including compact construction machines and heavy equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues
• Perform accurate and timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime
• Document all work performed, including detailed service notes and repair information
• Update and manage work orders throughout the day using a computer system
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment
• Support overall shop productivity and quality standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–5 years of diesel technician or heavy equipment repair experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Basic computer skills for work order management and documentation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
