CDL Semi-Truck Driving Instructor – Peosta, IA

Job Overview

We have an immediate need for CDL Semi-Truck Driving Instructors in Peosta, Iowa.  Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) and Hawkeye Community College (HCC) partner to
offer the CDL Semi-Truck Driving program at the NICC Peosta Campus. The instructor for this position will be hired by Hawkeye Community College (employer of record) and teach NICC’s
classes in Peosta. This type of collaboration is common among community college’s in Iowa as we collaborate together to ensure our communities have the training they need to grow. This
NICC and HCC collaboration is nearing it’s 10th year and we are seeking a new trainer to join the team.

Minimum Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Minimum 2 years on the road or local driving experience.
● Hold current CDL Class A license.
● Demonstrated ability to utilize and operate full size semi-trucks during instruction.
● Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
● Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively interact with
students, faculty, and staff.
● Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, maintain customer
confidence and protect operational integrity.
● Ability to work with and provide customer service for diverse populations (faculty, staff,
students, and general public).

Must pass/meet FMCSA requirements up to and including a pre-employment drug test, a
completed FMCSA application and employment verifications.
● Must pass/meet Hawkeye Community College compliance requirements, up to and
including a background check and vehicle insurance requirements.
