POSITION SUMMARY

The Metrix Company has a Manufacturing Internship or Co-op opportunity which provides hands-on engineering support to Manufacturing and Product Engineering.  The person in this position works closely with the production team on the manufacturing floor to understand products, equipment, processes, and opportunities for improvement.  The Manufacturing Engineering Intern / Co-op student will assist with engineering projects, troubleshooting, process improvements, documentation, testing, and equipment or tooling improvements within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program, preferably Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or a related field.
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students are encouraged to apply.
• Strong interest in hands-on manufacturing and problem-solving.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. CAD experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn engineering documentation, manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and medical device requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
• Previous manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or technical experience is helpful but not required.
