Decker Precision Machining is seeking a dependable, motivated and detail-oriented CNC Horizontal And Vertical Mill Setup And Operator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC horizontal machining centers and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts. This position requires someone who can read blueprints, set tooling and offsets, inspect finished parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centers.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Set up fixtures, tooling, work offsets, and tool offsets.
  • Load and unload parts and materials.
  • Make necessary machine and offset adjustments during production.
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
  • Monitor tooling and replace or adjust tooling as needed.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machining and quality issues.
  • Make minor program edits and adjustments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous CNC machining experience preferred.
  • Experience with CNC horizontal mills strongly preferred.
  • Ability to set up CNC machines independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
  • Understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
  • Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with vertical machining centers,
  • Experience with horizontal machining centers.
  • Experience with pallet changers.
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance components.
  • Experience working with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
  • Ability to safely handle materials and finished products.
  • Willingness to learn CNC machine operation.
  • Ability to maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Work Hours

  • First Shift position 5:30AM-2:30PM Monday-Friday (this is overtime schedule)
  • Overtime is available on an as needed basis (currently on overtime hours)
