Decker Precision Machining is seeking a dependable, motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setup And Operator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts. This position requires someone who can read blueprints, set tooling and offsets, inspect finished parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Set up bar feeders, 3 and 4-jaw, sub-spindle, live-tooling, and Y-axis.
- Familiarity with robots (not required; will train).
- Load and unload parts and materials.
- Make necessary machine and offset adjustments during production.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Monitor tooling and replace or adjust tooling as needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic machining and quality issues.
- Make minor program edits and adjustments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous CNC machining experience preferred.
- Experience with CNC Lathes strongly preferred.
- Ability to set up CNC machines independently.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
- Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Lathes 3 & 4 Jaw w/live tooling, and Y-axis,
- Experience with Robot loaders.
- Experience machining tight-tolerance components.
- Experience working with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, etc.

- Ability to safely handle materials and finished products.
- Willingness to learn CNC machine operation.

- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Work Hours
- First Shift position 5:30AM-2:30PM Monday-Friday (this is overtime schedule)
- Overtime is available on an as needed basis (currently on overtime hours)
