Sinker EDM Operator

Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a Sinker EDM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will set up and operate sinker EDM equipment to produce precision components and features for plastic injection and die-cast tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sinker EDM machines to burn electrodes into mold components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrode drawings, and tooling instructions/setup sheets.
• Monitor EDM operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy, surface finish, and quality.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.).
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.
• Work with team members to troubleshoot EDM challenges and support tooling build requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating sinker EDM equipment or working in a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.).
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
