Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a part-time Catalyst for Theological Education for Madison Learning Community.  This position is funded through a grant from the Lilly Endowment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a local learning community in Madison, Wisconsin on behalf of UDTS in partnership with staff and faculty colleagues
  • Recruit students for courses offered in Madison
  • Support and advise participants in the Learning Community (students)
  • Facilitate weekly formative conversation among Madison students taking online UDTS courses
  • Participate in once-monthly face-to-face UDTS faculty meetings in Dubuque, Iowa
  • Once trained as a clergy coach, provide coaching to working pastors in degree programs
  • Support formation of a Madison-based Doctor of Ministry cohort
  • Network with Madison-area churches and leaders
  • Collaborate with the Missio Madison/Theological Enrichment Catalyst on UDTS sponsored non-degree programming
  • Co-teach courses as needed (for additional compensation)
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission

Qualifications:

  • Dmin or PhD in Biblical Studies or other theological discipline
  • Existing networks and rapport among Madison, WI-area churches and Christian leaders
  • Passion for ecumenical community and collaboration
  • Demonstrate high level proficiency skills with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to establish/maintain appropriate and effective communication and interpersonal relations throughout the campus, college, and the local community
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, effective oral and written correspondence, and public relation skills
  • Ability to use discretion and confidentiality in department and University matters
  • Commitment to the mission of the University
