Job Overview
Supports the Director and Departmental functions, activities, and projects with administrative support, including responding to public inquiries, written correspondence, meeting support, processing expense reports and receipts, data entry, claims and billing, and contract administration. Work setting is professional office with some activities taking place in the local community of Dubuque, IA.
Example of Duties
- Compose departmental email correspondence relating to Department activities
- Prepares and processes mental health, legal, and office-related claims for the East Central Region and County payment
- Maintains records of providers within the East Central Region and County system utilizing county and state database systems;
- May be required to attend County and community meetings/events and assist with meeting/event planning and logistics, including taking meeting notes and preparing minutes and agendas at the direction of the Director
- Utilizes current information technology (Microsoft Suite, ZOOM, Teams, Sharepoint, state-wide database system) to realize efficient office operations;
- Updates data and records within timely parameters;
- Receives inquiries, complaints and service requests, screen calls, and provides appropriate information
- Maintains departmental records and correspondence;
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or business administration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of current accounting procedures and claims processing; ability to understand financial statements; ability to prepare and maintain detailed reports and records; ability to work and interpret policies and procedures independently and exercise judgment; ability to plan and organize; ability to utilize complex county and state database systems; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with county and state officials, and other key community and provider stakeholders.
