The university is currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Financial Aid Services Coordinator. The Financial Aid Services Coordinator plays a critical role in loan communications and processing. The Financial Aid Services Coordinator is one of two front line staff who have varied duties described below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain relationships with the payroll office to jointly investigate and resolve student payroll issues.
- Assist students with the required pre-employment paperwork (I-9, W-4, Work Authorization)
- Certify and process Federal Direct and private educational loans.
- Complete reconciliation of loans through Datatel and COD monthly for Federal Loans.
- Ensure each student borrower meets the Federal eligibility requirements for Direct and PLUS loans
- and lender requirements for private loans.
- Manage loan disbursements and communicate to Student Accounts.
- Research, communicate, and resolve all loan issues.
- Meet with students and families regarding gap funding, financial literacy, and applying for financial aid
- Monitor and manage the Financial Aid email inbox
- Verification Processing and Triage assistance as needed by the office and during peak periods
Minimum Qualifications
Employee must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, customer service experience and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Bachelor degree recommended and experience in financial aid highly preferred. A preference for someone with strong Microsoft Office skills, financial aid, and Datatel experience is highly recommended.
