Job Overview

Summary: Provide day-to-day financial operations support ensuring that the assets are adequately safe-guarded, properly valued and effectively used in the business enterprise.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensure plant level internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
  • Responsible for the integrity, accuracy and timely submittal of all financial transactions originated at the production site.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and appropriate valuation of all inventory related to the production site.
  • Act as the primary JDE liaison at the production site.
  • In conjunction with Regional Controller, develop monthly flash reports, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Assist General Manager with cost control initiatives. Ensure accurate and timely transactional reporting.
  • Monitor capital spending program. Ensure compliance to corporate policies including approvals and spending as well as conversion of individual assets into fixed asset sub-ledger systems.
  • Coordinate cycle counts on inventory assets in coordination with maintenance and warehouse departments.
  • Administrate material master including BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Warehouse Masters and Item Masters
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting including but not limited to monthly OpCo reports, inventory sub-ledgers, inventory SOX controls, inventory movements and flash reports.
  • Load data into Hyperion Planning and HFM.
  • Be proficient at the DAS report writer tool in order to extract data from JDE. Create and maintain scheduled DAS reports for all Dubuque users
  • Participate in the SPI process including supplying pertinent inventory and production data as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain the cost information at the plant and cost center level. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Serve as the DSI liaison between plant users and Corporate/DSI consultants, maintaining DSI applications and requesting changes as needed for plant operations.
  • Serve as the plant lead for Longview integration and support.
  • Sign-off on quarterly certifications of financial accuracy of plant reporting.

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, such as GAAP and internal control / SOX.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply business management principles including strategic planning, personnel management and development and departmental budgeting.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyze relevant information to draw conclusions and make informed judgments.
  • Ability to develop systems and methods of operation in order to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Time management skills including ability to prioritize and organize work to maximize efficiency.
  • Knowledge of personnel management principles, including performance management and coaching.
  • Strong computer spreadsheet modeling and word processing skills (i.e. MS Office).

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting/ financial management required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory management through an ERP system.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles and reporting.
  • Strong computational skills in Microsoft Excel.

 

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge or have the ability to acquire the knowledge of JDE Accounting software; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Teams; solid fundamentals in Microsoft Excel and Word .

 

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

 

Work Environment:  Occasionally exposed to cold, heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
