Job Overview
Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is searching for drivers who are interested in rural transit operations. Drivers are responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient public transportation. Essential Job Duties:
- Operate light duty bus and/or vans in the fleet
- Comply with RTA policies
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Greet customers in a courteous, professional manner
- Use 2-way radio communication system to communicate with dispatch
- Communicate with passengers and management effectively
- Perform pre-trip and post-trips vehicle inspections as required
- Aid passengers with disabilities, secure passenger wheelchairs and/or scooters, and other mobility devices as required.
Position requirements:
A valid Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) Class C with Passenger Endorsement is preferred, or a valid Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) is required prior to the first day of employment. If needed, free training will be provided to acquire CDL. High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass the DOT Drug and Alcohol Test, DOT Physical Assessment and Background Check requirements for this position. This is an hourly paid position, with the potential to earn up to $19.50 per hour; pay commensurate with experience.
