Job Overview

The Engineering Department serves many valuable functions in the community including the design, survey, and inspection services for City infrastructure projects including public streets and sidewalks, bridge construction, and developments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards; the management of street right of ways; site plan and subdivision review and development; sanitary sewer construction and rehabilitation services; stormwater management; and traffic safety. Duties include locating and marking the location of sanitary, storm, electric, water main, fiber optics or other City managed utilities. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalency; two (2) years of experience in sewer, water main, electrical, fiber optics or underground utility construction, design or utility location; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license.
