Job Overview

Provide innovative and fiscally responsive educational leadership to ensure quality academic programs that meet workforce needs.  Facilitate the seamless transfer of students from non-credit Career Pathway Certificates and credit high school pathways into NICC credit programming.  Facilitate the transfer of NICC credit program students into business, industry, and transfer post-secondary institutions. Ensure comprehensive and effective student support services to facilitate student enrollment, retention, completion and placement.  Assume responsibility for day-to-day operations and evaluation of the staff, faculty and programs within the department.

 

Promote and maintain sustainable and responsive educational programming to meet workforce needs. Develop career technical program maps that include common core curriculum and meta majors to illustrate pathways and opportunities for adult, high school and under-represented students. Develop and implement comprehensive district-wide programming that incorporates authentic, work based learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience: Current and relevant experience in advanced manufacturing or industrial technology required with related business or industry experience preferred.  Ability to anticipate industry needs and ensure the flexible and relevant delivery of education in the following areas: Industrial  Maintenance, Computerized Numerical Controls, HVAC, Diesel, Automotive, Gas Utilities, Engineering, Construction and Computer Technology.
  2. Education: A minimum of an Associated Degree required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  3. Certification and Approval: Ability to be credentialed via the NICC Quality Faculty Plan in the career-technical area in which employed. Ability to be credentialed with an evaluator’s credential for teaching, and/or supervising a vocational-technical area.
