Job Description

Summary/Objective

Serves as the initial contact between the customer and the bank. Responsible for assessing and handling customers’ needs, obtaining and processing customer account information, and cross selling bank products and services.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Greets and acknowledges customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  2. Provide customer services including, but not limited to: cashing checks, receiving deposits, making withdrawals, receiving loan payments, making credit card advances, cashing savings bonds.
  3. Cross sells bank products and services following bank policies and procedures.
  4. Process all transactions accurately and completely.
  5. Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.
  6. Maintain appropriate internal controls to protect the bank’s resources.
  7. May be responsible for opening deposit accounts of all types.
  8. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable law and regulations.
  9. Openly communicates to all departments within the bank to determine efficiencies and improvements.
  10. Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility for the bank.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with arms, talk or hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, some distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Some driving may be required.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Specific schedule will be determined by immediate supervisor.

 

 

Travel

Some travel may be required for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Previous customer service experience.
  2. Previous cash handling experience.
