Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking Lead Certified Flight InstructorsThe University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform all administrative duties as a supervisor of Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs)
  • Maintain attendance, pay records, and evaluation records of CFIs
  • Assist with scheduling of aircraft and students, quality assurance of student records, and push/pull team supervision
  • Work with dispatch on any related issues
  • Coordinate with the Director of Safety on all safety and security-related concerns
  • Lead and manage CFIs
  • Responsible for their normal CFI duties; conducting flight blocks, ground lessons, and student tracking
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • CFI, CFII, and multi-engine ratings
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, supervise, and manage small groups of CFIs
  • Strong active listening and communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and/or the ability to multi-task
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations
  • Flexibility with schedule as need arises (some evening and weekend hours)
  • Ability to use discretion and confidentiality in department and University matters
  • Ability to relate to a culturally diverse university community
  • Commitment to the Mission of the University
