Position is for the Allergy department
Grand River Medical Group is seeking a strong nurse (RN) to work alongside our clinician/nurse team at our Allergy Clinic. This includes rooming patients, administering allergy shots, mixing various injectables, monitoring patients for reactions, proper documentation as well as good organizational skills to help keep the workflow of the clinic running smoothly.
The ideal candidate would be an ambitious self-starter, who is willing to help wherever they can. You will experience a new workload every day and will have the support and encouragement for your fellow co-workers to continue to grow in your role.
This is a full-time position, 35-40 hours per week. This position is typically 4 days per week, with no evening or weekend requirements. All nursing positions have the ability to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired. Grand River Medical Group's Allergy clinic is typically open Monday-Thursday.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare patients for Clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit.
- Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures.
- Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.
- Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
- Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
- Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
- Two years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Must have an active license to practice in the state of Iowa.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
