Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant- Track and Field Coach with an emphasis on sprints, jumps, and hurdles for the 2022-2023 term, with a potential renewal for 2023-2024. The University of Dubuque is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Track, Field & Cross Country
- Recruit prospective student-athletes
- Coordinate team operations such as travel, camps, and home meets
- Monitor eligibility status and promotion of academic progress for student-athletes
- Fit and maintain team apparel and equipment
- Participate and assist with camps, clinics, exhibitions, and campus activities
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience and/or prior experience as an athlete
- Effective communication skills; both orally and written
- Proficiency in graphic design, social media, video, and all relevant software
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
