Job Summary – Purpose of Position
Position will ensure service levels as outlined in the company strategic plans within the shipping, receiving and replenishing departments. The position is responsible for daily operations, process improvement and staff development on during peak times of business (approximately August – February).

· Prioritize and direct daily work assignments of department staff. Create and maintain weekly employee schedules. |

· Review daily hours to ensure accurate costs for the Department |

· Document and communicate with Ship Clerk about absences and tardies within the Shipping Department. |

· Update schedule on a daily basis for accurate tracking of employee’s and outbound capacities.
Is Proactive in maintaining communication with the rest of the departments in the DC to ensure proper staffing to support order volume. |
|
· Spend a majority of the day monitoring the floor and helping with workflow, answering questions, and insuring high morale in the department. |
|
· Ensure effective hiring and training of employees. |
|
· Ensure department staff follows company policies:
· Safety
· Housekeeping
· Attendance and break schedules
· All policies as outlined in employee handbook |

· Special assignments as requested by DC Supervisor, DC Manager, Director of Operations or VP Group.

· Meet quarterly goals created by DC Manager. |
|
· Write and deliver yearly performance reviews for direct hourly reports. |
|
· Assure that all actions taken with regard to direct reports are in accordance with established company policies. |

Required Knowledge and Skills
Required + Preferred Education
- High school diploma
- Equivalent work experience would be considered
Required + Preferred Skills
- 1 year of experience as a lead/supervisor of a mid-size distribution center (40-100 employees)
- Direct to consumer fulfillment experience a plus
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication
- Sense of urgency in accomplishing objectives
- Exceptional leadership ability
- Adept problem-solver and analytical thinker
- Proven coaching and mentoring skills
- Spreadsheet and word processing proficiency
Physical Environment & Travel Expectations
- Standing or walking for up to eight hours a day.
- Frequently lifting up to thirty pounds, occasionally lifting up to seventy pounds.
- Frequently reaching, twisting, and bending in multiple directions.
- Ability to perform work in tight quarter workstations.
- Moderate warehouse noise level.
- Push/pull a picking cart and/or pallet of up to five hundred pounds.
- Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movement (i.e.: folding garments).
- Work in temperatures ranging from 50 – 95 degrees.
