Job Overview
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides oversite and support for Fleet’s safety compliance equipment maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recognizes and values customers and fellow associates by:
- A) Working to meet clearly stated internal customer requirements
- B) Looking for opportunities to improve work processes
Maintains Fleet equipment inventory in AS400, SAP or excel. Identifies inactive and low performing trailers and tractors and makes recommendations for possible sales.
Evaluates quotes and repair/ work orders for non-scheduled maintenance and repair activities within the fleet. Provides recommendation to Transportation Manager.
Issues PO’s to vendors upon approval and maintains record of payment.
Coordinates Virtual Tech Program, monitors and audits purchased maintenance (PM) schedules and DOT inspections to keep fleet current.
Supports annual truck and trailer bids, spec development, titles, and registration.
Monitors and reports DOT / FMCSA violations or issues for all sites to Transportation Manager.
IFTA/ IRP Filing
Provides support for truck insurance, accidents, claims, plates.
Dubuque fleet drivers support, including after hours, supplies, driving replacement truck to drivers in the event of a breakdown. Works with local shops, tow companies, and other service providers through returning truck to the road.
Performs hostler activity for Dubuque Operations.
Attend driver meetings, provide informational updates pertaining to DOT/ FMCSA updates, etc.. Must have a valid CDL license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Valid CDL license required
Minimum 2 years’ experience as diesel mechanic or equivalent
Minimum 4 years’ fleet safety and equipment experience
Strong analytical and communication skills
Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PPT experience required
